Saint’s Day for Alfredo, Benito, Nazario and Tatiana.

The Spanish naval officer and scientist, Antonio de Ulloa, was born in Seville in 1716. He was the first Spanish governor of Louisiana.
Other noted births on this day in history include in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1809, the Duke of Tetuan Leopoldo O’Donnell y Jorris, the Spanish general and statesman who headed the government for three separate periods between 1856 and 1866 and fought for Isabela II in the Carlist Wars. He was descended from the Irish 16th century chieftain, Calvagh O’Donnell, Lord of Tyrconnell.

The television journalist who presents the Tele 5 morning show ‘El programa de Ana Rosa,’ Ana Rosa Quintana, was born in Madrid in 1956.
Manuel Aznar Acedo, a prominent radio journalist during the Franco years and Director of Radio Nacional España, died in 2001. He was the father of José María Aznar, the former Partido Popular Prime Minister.
