José Martínez Andreo is back at work following his release on bail, and an ex councillor was questioned in the corruption investigation in Los Alcázares
Another suspect was in court on Monday for questioning in the Operation Ninette corruption investigation in Los Alcázares, which came about with investigations into links in the Murcia Region with Juan Antonio Roca, the man at the centre of the Malaya corruption case in Marbella, Málaga province.
The former planning councillor in Los Alcázares, Alfredo Blanco, left the court a free man after three hours of questioning, and said no preventive measures were imposed against him by the judge. He is one of 20 suspects in the case, along with the ex Socialist Mayor of Los Alcázares, Juan Escudero, who was granted 60,000 € bail.
In another of Murcia’s big corruption cases, the investigation into the Town Halls in Fuente Álamo and Torre Pacheco, the Mayor of the former, María Antonio Conesa, said in a press conference on Tuesday that she categorically denies the crimes she is accused of by the prosecution service at the Murcia High Court of Justice: bribery and influence peddling. Her lawyer told journalists he has applied for the preliminary court investigations to be archived.
Conesa’s colleague in Torre Pacheco, David García Madrid, was also speaking to the press on Tuesday. He said there have been no developments since the decision by the judge last week to partially lift secrecy, and asked for ‘patience, respect and that justice be done.’
And in Totana, the Partido Popular Mayor was back at work on Monday, for the first time since his release from remand in the Operation Totem corruption case. José Martínez Andreo was released on 1st February after paying 70,000 € bail.
