It is said to be just 10 metres from the beach and the site of archaeological remains from the Visigoth period in Spain
Europa Press has reported this weekend on a group of residents in Villaricos, a small village in Almería which comes under Cuevas de Almanzora, who have formed a platform against a plan to build a development of luxury apartments just 10 metres from the beach. The news agency said the 18-apartment project has been approved by three levels of government – the local Town Hall, the Junta de Andalucía, and the Development Ministry.
It’s a plot of more than 2,500 square metres where, according to the report, the Junta’s department for culture is carrying out excavations for archaeological remains, where findings so far uncovered could date as far back as the Visigoth period in Spain.
There’s just one property on the site, which is due to be demolished this Monday, prior to further archaeological investigations on the site. Europa Press reported concerns from the Salvemos Villaricos association that the demolition could signal the start of development, and that all that will be needed to go ahead with building will be approval of a local application for planning permission.

history should always be more important than some fascistic crooks making a
quick buck & maybe cleaning up dodgy money...the local community would
benifit a huge amount more from historical tourism than token ecconomics
