Forestry worker killed in Almería tractor accident

He was trapped beneath the vehicle when it overturned
A 50 year old man from Granada province died on Wednesday when he was working on clearing a forested area in the Sierra de Alhamilla in Pechina. EFE said the heavy duty tractor he was using to clear the land overturned, and he became trapped beneath the vehicle. The accident happened shortly after midday, and emergency services called out to the scene were unable to do anything to save his life.

He was employed by a private company contracted by the Junta de Andalucía to carry out forestry work in the area, and it is understood an investigation is now underway to determine if health and safety regulations were being met.
