The yards at Los Prados have completed their second S-130 AVE train ahead of time
The Renfe yards at Los Prados in Málaga have completed their second AVE train, which, as was the first completed last December, is a Series 130, with the capacity for 299 passengers. It can reach a top speed of 250 kph, and can travel on both conventional and high speed lines.
Los Prados will build a further a five units and these first two have both been completed ahead of time. Málaga Hoy newspaper notes that the first of five complete hotel trains, the Trenhotel, is expected to leave the yards at the end of this month.
Málaga City Hall have meanwhile proposed to the Junta de Andalucía that Line 1 of the city’s new metro system should be extended to Churriana and Line 2 as far as the airport. They also propose a new line for the local train service to connect the city with Coín, Alhaurín de la Torre and Alhaurín el Grande. The proposals are included in City Hall’s formal objections lodged on Monday against the Junta’s Territorial Development Plan, the P.O.T.
