Three tons of cannabis recovered in Cádiz

Thirteen suspects were arrested in the three operations

It’s been revealed that more than three tons of cannabis resin have been recovered in three separate Civil Guard and police operations in Cádiz province.

The first was on Saturday night, when the SIVE electronic surveillance system detected a boat travelling without lights off the coast of Tarifa. La Voz Digital said the vessel was seven miles off the south western shore at that point. The Civil Guard found 2.3 tons of cannabis on board when they intercepted the vessel.

Another 750 kilos were seized on Sunday night on Cala Taraja in San Roque, and a four wheel drive vehicle, later found to be stolen, was also confiscated. Five suspects were arrested in the two operations.

A third operation by National Police in Jerez de la Frontera on Tuesday recovered another 100 kilos of the drug and arrested eight people. It’s understood that that particular operation remains open.
