It has meanwhile been revealed that Judge Baltasar Garzón is investigating secret ETA accounts in Liechenstein
Two small bombs exploded in the Basque Country on Sunday, near a repeater station on the Monte Izarraitz, between Azpeitia and Azkoitia, Guipúzcoa province. The damage is reported as minor, and a warning call in the name of ETA was made at around 11am, EFE reports. Security forces were hampered by the weather conditions, and were unable to locate the site until after the devices went off.
It’s understood that one was inside the repeater station and the other was planted nearby.

It’s the first action by the terrorist organisation since the car bomb attack outside the Civil Guard barracks in Calahorra, La Rioja on 21st March. There was considerable damage caused on that occasion, where the bomb is believed to have been made up of 70 kilos of explosives.enlarge photo

There was meanwhile news from El País newspaper this weekend that the National Court judge, Baltasar Garzón, is investigating ETA accounts in Liechenstein, where the terrorist organisation has been paying in thousands of euros of proceeds from their so-called revolutionary tax imposed on businesses. The paper said authorities there have put a block on secret accounts opened by Carlos Bellver, a fiscal advisor to ETA’s extortion network, with an investment return of more than 10%. enlarge photo
Liechenstein has yet to respond to Garzón’s request for judicial assistance on his investigation, where he requests more detailed information on the accounts in question.
