Rainfall was 85% lower than average over the month of March, according to the Valencia Met. office
Rainfall in the Valencia region was 85% lower than normal over the month of March this year according to the latest figures, with the shortfall even more serious in the province of Alicante.

The areas of Vinalopó, L’Alacantí and part of the Vega Baja, saw rainfall over the month of less than 1 litre per square metre.
The figures, from the climate section of the Valencia Meteorological Centre, show that the average temperature during March was also 1.2 degrees higher than normal.

The reservoirs in the Segura area are those where levels are the lowest across the country, at a current capacity of just 17.8%, a number similar to what it was at this time last year.

No hay problema. We'll just confiscate all the water stored in those many thousands of unused swimming pools now littering the concrete costas.
