Russian woman arrested for killing her husband in Torrevieja

The 70 year old woman, who is reported to have been suffering from mental problems, killed her 67 year old husband with an axe

A 70 year old Russian woman has been arrested for killing her ex husband, also Russian with an axe. She had gone back to live with him in Torrevieja so he could look after her. The couple had divorced seven years previously but they were living together as she needed his help due to a mental illness she was suffering.

The details of how the 67 year old died on Saturday night have now been established by the Guardia Civil. The 70 year old woman accused in the case suffers from Schizophrenia and after carrying out the killing tried to end her own life by taking pills. She was found, taken to the Torrevieja hospital where she remains under arrest.
