I'm bothered by this species. Could we get in an ancient Egyptian to
explain to him why cats were domesticated?
That feral cat population probably started with abandoned pets.
There are ways of humanely controlling cat populations, and it's often
being done by foreigners. Too often in Spain it's guns and rat poison and
macho gits.
Please lock him up, with his friends the rats, or at least get him
neutered.

The hotelier said the cats were bothering his guests and making the area unhealthy
The 44 year old owner of a hotel in Mojacar, named as Juan A.F. has been arrested after being accused of ‘decimating’ the local cat population using a 4.5mm airgun. Local residents had reported seeing an armed man hiding in the undergrowth and often hearing shots.
The man now faces charges of acting against the flora and fauna of the area, after an investigation was opened following a compliant placed by a local animal protection organisation in the ‘Vista Los Angeles’ district. The accused is reported by 20minutos to have explained that the cats were causing a great deal of bother and unhealthy conditions.
The accused was granted bail with charges by the judge in Instruction Court 1 in Vera.

The human animal is the worts pest on the planet, causing more pullution
and more death than any other species. All those cats do is live innocent
lives. They only kill to eat( only well fed domestic cats kill for fun)
and they do not polute, prefering to cover their feces.
Why is it the Spanish are so against neutering as a means to limit feral populations, - could it be that they enjoy the sport of cruelly killing these animals so like to keep the numbers up to ensure plenty of target practice.

I have heard people here say that they would like their pet to have kittens
or puppies- just for the hell of it- they are so cute.
What happens next- they don't care, and so this leads to mass abandonment. (And feral populations.)
I have also heard, from staff at a refuge, that people just WILL NOT PAY for sterilisation, or for holiday boarding even. Just stingy, heartless, immature.
