Rafael Albert is charged with perversion of the course of justice for selling off municipal land below price
The Partido Popular Mayor of Oropesa, Rafael Albert, charged with perversion of the course of justice, appeared in court in Castellón on Thursday charged with selling off municipal land at a price of six € per square metre without putting it out to tender. The current market price for the land at the time has been estimated at 200 €.
The Castellón prosecutor has also charged the rest of the PP councillors from the previous corporation, and independent councillors who also votes in favour of the motion to sell the land. One of the promoters to buy the land is the cousin of the town planning councillor.
Ecologist group GECEN presented the first complaint about the sale which dates back to 2003 and affects more than 100,000 square metres next to the La Renegà beach.
