The identity of the latest person to be arrested in the Tótem case is not yet known
A businessman has been arrested today in Alcantarilla, as part of the Tótem corruption case based on real estate deals in Murcia.
First reports on the arrest in El Mundo do not identify the detained man, but say that he is already declaring as a witness before the judge instructing the case, Asunción Navarro.
Reports indicate that the man is linked to the fruit and vegetable business and is expected to appear before the courts as early as tomorrow, Tuesday.
The Totem corruption case started in Murcia on November 26 and is based in the Murcia town of Totana, but also has links to Madrid and Vigo. Totana has seen a huge increase in building for residential tourism over recent years and the case is linked to the Nuaria Group who planned to build 5,000 new homes, a golf course and two hotels with a spa.
