The coastal Granada town will host the gala during September this year
This year’s Miss Switzerland 2008 beauty contest will be held in Salobreña on the Costa Tropical. The local Town Hall has confirmed that they are working with the public television channel in Switzerland to stage the show which has come about thanks to the Salobreña Film Office which helps to coordinate foreign media which want to record reports, interviews or other programmes in the town or along the Costa Tropical.
The gala will be broadcast both in Switzerland and on satellite in September, and the candidates will also have to try their hand at learning how to dance flamenco.
The 18 candidates will also be in the town in July for photographic shoots and so far half a dozen Swiss media have applied for accreditation to cover the event which is staged in collaboration with the TUI Suiza tour operator and the Hotel Club Robinson Playa.
