"Thieves, burglars, betrayal, bloody murder!
*GASP*
How shall all those new goldf courses be watered if BCL dares taking too
much of the Ebro...Especially, as it is SO DRY over here that the turf
needs every extra drop..."
With the lowest water prizes in Europe and the highest consumption I can
once again conclude: ignorance is bliss, innit?
I can just see how "suddenly and totally unexpectedly" the prices will go
up instead of consuming the good ol' H2O more responsibly.

Valencia considers legal action against Ebro-Barcelona water transfer
larger | smaller
By h.b. - Apr 17, 2008 - 8:12 AM
The granting of a water transfer from the Ebro to Barcelona has upset other dry regions of the country.
The Regional Councillor for the Environment in Valencia, José Ramón García Antón, has called on the Government to organise a water summit to include all those who are implicated in taking water from the Ebro river. The so-called mini-transfer from the mouth of the river to Barcelona has been criticised by Valencia and Murcia, as you might expect, while even Socialist Aragón has also voiced concerns.
Antón has sent a letter to the Minister for Agriculture, Elena Espinosa, in which he asks for a meeting leading to a state pact on water. The Valencia Government is also studying the possibilities of taking legal action against the transfer to Barcelona. The news was given to the press by the Government vice-president and spokesman Vicente Rambla.

What a joke.... Valencia should look at them selfs first !! They are so happy to take land and rights from everyone but cry the moment some one else get ahead.. How can the EEC keep turning a blind eye to this Government ?

@Paul:
I do not think they are turning a blind eye. There were and are cases [I don't have the sources right here but it should be easy to dig] concerning their landgrab laws and construction mania. But I give you that it seems to take awefully long.
Not too consoling but suiting, I stumbled over the following: "Spain is not yet Europe -- but it has ceased to be Spain, for the better or the worse", (Juan Goytisolo)
