Spanish Ministry for Health investigating Herbalife for possible links to liver problems

The Ministry for Health is investigating possible links between the diatary products and liver toxicity
The Spanish Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs has published a report today which looks at an investigation started to try and establish the cause of nine cases of hepatic poisoning which were registered between 2003 and 2007 and possibly linked to the use of products from Herbalife Internacional España S.L.
Similar cases have been reported from other EU countries and in Iceland, Switzerland and Israel, totalling 37 in number.
The dietary products for weight loss and well being are well known around the world thanks to the selling techniques of the company.
Today’s statement from the Spanish Ministry of Health says that proving any link between using these products and the cases is not easy to establish, although in some of the examples it seems a the link is more likely. As the products are sold directly to the home in most cases, the Health Ministry suggests that any person who thinks a product may be causing them any prejudicial effect, to contact a doctor and the health authorities.
The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products has already sent out these and other recommendations to pharmacists and doctors across the country.

I am suspicious of these kinds of products. The reviews are good but often
seem written in a biased way. See their reviews on NutritionalTree.com for
example.

Me and my wife are using those products almost 13 years. I lost using herbalife products 22 k"g, and it improved my health, like nothing else and no doctors did.
I have 3 children, all of them are eating those products for years.
As I read before, in all of those countries - Iceland, Switzerland and Israel- nobody has found problems and the products are been sold there all the time, until today.
Me and my wife are using those products almost 13 years. I lost using herbalife products 22 k"g, and it improved my health, like nothing else and no doctors did.
I have 3 children, all of them are eating those products for years.

Hello, I along with my wife and my eighty year old parents, have been on
the Herbalife products for over 14 years now. We have had amazing health
results in so many areas: vitality, a 21 yr major bowel issue cleared up in
6 weeks! Our Doctor took us off most of the medication we were on for high
blood pressure! Long term debilitating chronic fatigue is under control,
skin improved, arthritis pains disappeared and to boot, I lost 10 kgs and
kept it off for 14 years and my wife lost 16 kgs- that was after dieting
for 17 yrs prior to Herbalife with limited success!! What's more, we know
many people on the products and they have had good results too.

For years i´ve suffered chronic tiredness,many times i´ve been reduced to
tears through tiredness and pure frustration at just wanting to feel
normal.Every afternoon i´d need to sleep 2 hours, then i´d go to bed as
early as 9.30, It´s no life needing to sleep so much. I´ve been on
Herbalife for only 5 weeks, from the first week my energy levels increased.
I feel healthier and have more energy than i´ve had in years. I feel
great, thanks to Herbalife.

Since 1994 I have taken lots of these products and never had a problem. I
have heard of people having liver problems from too much booze though. I
also heard about a liver problem from raw meat. Perhaps we should look
closely at the meat market especially pork!
