Those with Downs Syndrome are often quite child like... Is this the same as
saying that children "do not feel, do not understand" ???
Let us hope that understanding becomes more widespread...

A group of twelve people with Downs Syndrome were told to 'get out' of the temple.
What some may consider as being non-Christian conduct has been reported from Almería Cathedral, where a person, thought to have been a priest, is alleged to have stopped a group of 12 youngsters with Down’s Syndrome and four monitors from entering the building.
The group claims they were turned away from the doors of the temple yesterday with the words that the group from the Almeria Association for Down’s Syndrome, Asalsido, ‘did not feel, and did not understand’. Cadena Ser Radio reports that the priest allegedly shouted at the group to get out.
A Cathedral spokesman said yesterday that they had no knowledge of what had occurred, while the association says they will take their compliant to the Archbishop.

That's just the same prejudice as directed at animals here. They cannot
feel, and don't speak the same language, so they can be abused at will.
