The P.P. leader has declined to name his new team in opposition.
The Partido Popular leader, Mariano Rajoy, has admitted that the party is going through a ‘difficult’ time and has made a call for calm. Several top members of the party had called on Rajoy to reveal the line-up of his new shadow team, but he has again sidestepped that question, saying only that he will make his decisions with ‘common sense and sensibleness’.

He said that the party had shown it could overcome difficult circumstances and would do so again. Rajoy was speaking at a ceremony in homage to the veteran PP deputy, Rogelio Baón, who died last February.

It looks increasingly like Rajoy will not reveal his new team, and the replacement for Ángel Acebes in the post of Secretary General of the party, ahead of the party congress which is to be held in Valencia between June 20 and 22.
