The husband has served four and a half years in prison. The elder of the two daughters he abused has committed suicide.

José María Cenamora, a Civil Guard who was sent to prison for four and a half years for abusing his two daughters is set to be released from prison in Madrid and will recover his parental rights. The two daughters suffered abuse at the hands of their father for years, with the elder one committing suicide in February 2004 when she was 17 by throwing herself in front of a metro train.

The mother of the younger daughter, who is now aged 10, has told El País today that she is scared about what will happen when her husband is released.

How can he possibly regain his parental rights! Surely they have been forfeited for ever... A case for a distancing order if I ever heard of one!
