The film described as his longest and most expensive starts shooting on May 26 in Lanzarote.
Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar has presented his latest project – ‘Los Abrazos Rotos’ – Broken Hugs.
Some of the stars of the new production, Penélope Cruz and Blanca Portillo, and José Luis Gómez accompanied him at the presentation in the Casa de América in Madrid.
Filming of the drama starts in Lanzarote on May 26, and then moves to Madrid. Almodóvar describes it as his longest and most expensive film to date, and says it is a very novelettish film, in which the personalities suffer a great deal, and that he wants the audience to go to watch it without knowing anything about the plot.
We do know it is about a screenwriter who goes blind, and has a timeline split between the 1990’s and the present day.
Music for the film will be composed by Oscar nominee, Alberto Iglesias, and there will be several songs from Cat Power and a version of Michael Jackson’s ‘Beat it’, by the Brazilian group, Mr. Coconut.
