The remains of a 13th century boat have been found in the building site for a new car park and luxury flats in the Barceloneta area of Barcelona. Archaeologists consider that the boat sank in the area in the 13th or 14th century when the area concerned was still sea.
Mayor of Barcelona, Jordi Hereu, has visited the site with the Director of the Barcelona City Museum, Joan Roca.
Experts consider the remains are of an Atlantic origin, given the style of the construction, and have been found at some seven metres below the current sea level.
