Services were suspended for some four hours after a lightning strike.
A storm and lightning strike in Alicante cut railway services for four hours and brought long traffic delays to the city yesterday.
The train problems were caused by the collapse of the overhead power to the tracks between San Vicente and Agost, over some 300 metres.
One train on the Madrid-Alicante line was stranded on the track, with some 1,200 travellers affected by the disruption.
