Estepona man tries to sell stolen communion cup to priest in the town

The 32 year old man is now helping police with their enquiries.

A 32 year old Málaga man, named with the initials V.L.B.C. has been arrested by the National Police in Estepona accused of trying to sell a communion cup to a priest which he had previously stolen from another priest.

It’s believed the item was taken by the man on a visit to the first priest’s church, but he did not realise that the item was also inscribed with the name of the priest.

Police investigations are continuing to try and establish exactly what happened, as it appears that the man had offered other religious items to several priests in the town.
