An 81 year old tourist has died in Barcelona after a bag-snatch incident. Police say the Danish woman died from the blows she suffered to her body in a fall during the robbery, as a moped pulled alongside her and the pillion passenger grabbed her handbag on the junction between the Avenida Madrid and the Gran Via de Carles III.

Witnesses say she initially held onto the bag and was pulled down to the ground.

Europa Press reports that she died in hospital four days later, according to the Catalan regional police, Los Mossos d’Esquadra.

The victim had arrived in Barcelona that same day with her daughter to spend three days in the city. The Danish Consulate is now organising the repatriation of the body.

Is that it? This story makes me angry- I hope the "people" who did this are hunted down, with no mercy.
