Madrid to be the world internet capital next year

The International World Wide Web Congress will be held in Madrid in April 2009.
Madrid will be the world Internet capital in April 2009 as the Politécnica University in the capital organises the International World Wide Web congress for the first time.
Some 2,000 researchers and professionals from across the world will come to Madrid to debate the advances made and the future of the internet between the 20th and 24th of April next year.
The congress will highlight the activities of the CTIC Foundation which is home to the Spanish branch of the W3C and will have the idea of giving visibility to the groups activities and the better use of standards on the web.
