Development Minister, Magdalena Álvarez, gave the date to the Development Commission in Congress today.
The Spanish Ministry for Development has given an undertaking that the AVE high speed train network will be extended to reach both the French border and Valencia, Albacete and Cuenca in 2010 and reach a further 11 Spanish cities in 2012.
The work for the Valencia line has recently been approved by the cabinet.
Development Minister, Magdalena Álvarez, told the Development Commission in Congress today that the amount of motorway in Spain would be increased by 1,300 km by 2012 by when all road black spots would be a think of the past.
She said that in 2012 Spain would have more high speed train track than any other country in the world.
