Land in Málaga is just under two per cent more expensive than a year ago, while nationally prices have fallen by nearly eight per cent.
While the latest numbers from the National Statistics Institute nationally shows a 7.7% fall in the price of land, across Málaga province in the year to April there was a 1.9% increase in price for the first quarter, year on year. Increases were also seen in the provinces of Sevilla and Cádiz.
Minister for Housing, Beatriz Corredor, said yesterday that she expected the square metre price to return to levels last seen in 2004.
