Violent gang broken up in Cartagena

13 people, mostly Moroccans, have been arrested in connection with 130 crimes in the Murcia and Alicante area.
What the Guardia Civil describe as a ‘very violent’ gang, has been broken up in Cartagena where locals were very concerned at the spate of burglaries.

The gang was made up of at least 13 people, most of them Moroccan, accused of carrying out 130 crimes in rural areas in Murcia and Alicante.

Government delegate for Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, said the boss of the gang was a 25 year old Moroccan named with the initials A.H. who organised two separate groups which acted entirely separately. One group carried out burglaries and took medium and top of the range cars, while the other sold the goods and cars in Morocco, taking advantage of the trips to traffic in drugs as well.

Also arrested with the boss was his 30 year old Spanish girlfriend, T.M.D.M., and a Lituanian. All the other members of the gang are Moroccan and aged between 19 and 32, with one more under age.
