The group has finally made its way home by coach.
Informacion newspaper says that a group of 51 pupils and four teachers from the Gaya Institute in San Vicente del Raspeig and a college in Elda, had to spend Saturday night on the seats in Deauvais airport in France after Ryanair cancelled their flight.
One of the teachers, Faustino Barrio said that Ryanair wanted them to get a train the following afternoon to another airport and pay an extra 245 € per person. He says that no hotel was offered and they had to sleep in the airport. At 6am the police woke them up and took away two teachers who were accused of damaging airport furniture.
Finally the matter was solved by their travel agent after representations to the Spanish embassy were also unsuccessful. The group finally made their way home in three coaches changing at Orleans and Barcelona and were due home at 7am this morning. Ryanair has returned the cost of the return tickets.
