Well, I know bullfighting is medieval, but this is caveman stuff.

The man was sentenced to prison for five months for his crime which was described by the judge as a sadistic attack.
A court in Mataró, Barcelona, has sent a man to prison for five months after he was found guilty of raping a horse.
The mare, named Ombra, was tied down and hit by the man, who caused wounds to the head and feet of the animal.
The court heard that the horse now suffers from a slight limp, and can no longer take part in endurance competitions.
José María H.F. was told by the judge that his behaviour had been ‘cruel and serious’, and he was also ordered to pay the owner of the mare 771€ 30 to cover the veterinary costs which arose from his aggression.
During the case the accused claimed that horse’s injuries came from a simple fight with the animal when he had tried to ride her, but the judge considered that the man’s behaviour was gratuitously violent and medical evidence of rectal injury proved that there was no other explanation than it being a sexual and sadistic attack.

This is sick and atrocious. I'll be celebrating when Spain- a modern
European country- moves beyond the "use and abuse" attitude to animals.
What other species (than a Spaniard) would rape another?
