After carrying out the shooting the agressor rang the victim's father to tell him his son was dead.
A 27 year old man died in Elche around noon yesterday after being shot with a shotgun by a family friend who has now been arrested by the National Police. It happened at 1230 at number 3 in the Plaza de España in the town.
Police sources told the 20minutos newspaper that the victim was shot at least twice and they think the motive was linked to a financial debt.
The 49 year old arrested man, who works as a lorrydriver, himself called the police after carrying out the fatal attack.
He is also reported to have called the father of the victim after the shooting saying ‘I’ve shot your son, now you have what you wanted’.
