Luis Aragonés squad overcame a physical German side with a goal from Fernando Torres.
Spain is the European Champion after beating Germany in the final of EURO 2008 by a single goal scored by Fernando Torres.

Torres was named man of the match as Spain won the title for the second time in history, after a gap of 44 years, with the same style of quick play which has led them to six victories in the six matches they have played in the championships.
Torres told the Cuatro TV channel that the victory was down to the whole team. He also had special words for David Villa who had to miss the final because of injury.

It was a fitting climax to the ‘Mister’, Luis Aragonés, in his last match as Spanish manager and the names of the 11 players he put together - Casillas, Ramos, Puyol, Marchena, Capdevila, Iniesta, Senna, Xavi, Cesc, Silva and Torres will go down in the history books.

The Spanish side showed an attacking style of play and clearly dominated the Germans for most of the match, and survived two periods of harsh German attacks in each half.
It was a technical Spanish win over the physical German defence.
