530,000 legal foreign residents in Andalucía

There could be as many as 70,000 non-EU foreigners living illegally in Andalucía
An estimated 85,000 foreigners are living in Andalucía illegally according to latest estimates. 57% of them are British, German or French, and being from the European Union are allowed to be here, but since last year they are obliged also to obtain a certificate if they remain here for more than three months.
The rest of the immigrants are from outside Europe and could be expelled from the country if caught.

Across the region there are now 615,787 foreign residents according to the Jan 1 census this year. Of these 530,361 are legally resident, according to the Andalucian Migration Observatory of the Junta de Andalucía.

Because police have access to the local Padron census lists, many foreigners here decline to register. Andalucía Acoge, the immigrant support group estimates that there as many as 70,000 non EU immigrants currently resident in the region.
