Declarations continue in the Asapa corruption case in Estepona

A council meeting on Friday will accept the written resignation from the Mayor, the Socailist Antonio Barrientos.
It will be a key week in the Astapa corruption case in Estepona this week with more statements to the judge investigating the case and the council meeting to confirm the resignation of the Socialist Major Antonio Barrientos.
A stream of councillors, civil servants and local businessmen will declare before the Instruction Judge 1 in the town, Isabel Conejo. On Friday an extraordinary council meeting has been called to accept the written resignation of the Mayor. Barrientos is also resigning as a councillor.
Four other Socialists who are implicated in the case, Francisco Zamorano, Asunción López, Mariví López and Marisa Rodríguez have said that they will not be resigning as councillors although some could change their minds this week.
