34 Sub-Saharan African would-be immigrants were rescued by the Spanish coastguard when drifting in the Alborán sea on Tuesday.
Their boat had run out of petrol when trying to make the illegal crossing into Spain, and after being rescued they were taken into the port of Motril. There were five women and a two year old baby girl among the travellers.
The Red Cross reported that all the immigrants were in good health. They now face identification by the Spanish authorities and then repatriation.
