The Socialist will continue to lead the party on the Canaries.
The ex Minister for Justice and current leader of the Socialists on the Canaries, Juan Fernando López Aguilar, will, ‘with all probability’ become the Socialist number one in the next European elections.

El País quotes party sources as saying that Aguilar has a special interest and vocation for international politics. It’s thought that he will continue as General Secretary of the Canary Island Socialists but he will no longer be on the Federal Commission of the party.

The details will be confirmed during the party conference in Madrid this weekend.
