Those bulls are running to their death- in the bullring in the afternoon.
I'm afraid your breezy reporting is going to seem prehistoric in a few
years, as opinion turns against this entertainment.
Corporate sponsors are pulling out, leaving the Church as the main
supporter.

The running of the bulls through the streets of Pamplona were made famous worldwide by writer Ernest Hemmingway.
The traditional ‘chupinazo’ rocket launched from the balcony of Pamplona City Hall has marked the start of this year’s San Fermines fiestas and the famous daily bullruns through the city’s streets.
This year the rocket to mark the start of the party was set off by Uxue Barkos, the Nafarroa Bai spokesperson in the City Hall, with the crowd then launching into the traditional song ‘Pobre de Mi’.
As well as the bullruns televised nationally this week at 8am, there are the bullfights, a music festival and grand firework display as part of the festivities which end on July 14..

The first bullrun, with bulls from the Conde de la Corte stud, held this morning, was a slow affair with reports of just one injury from a goring.

I feel the supporters are the people who attend from all over the world.
The amount of tourist dollars spent in this community must equal a large
portion of the yearly income for business owners. I think it’s a great
event and not going away anytime soon

Wonderful!
Stuart, I'm afraid your hyperbole is a little xenophobic. One cannot cross-culturally launch criticism.
Tolerance, not intolerance, of the other is paramount for peace.

Oh, that means, "Think About It" in my parish.

Thanks for not name- calling. I think the "running" has an element of
courage. What is less well- known is the bullfighting after.
I don't come here to just criticise- I work in animal shelters, with the fallout of the bad attitude and cruelty towards animals here.
When a family pet is mutilated, it's heartbreaking. And I think it shows intolerance.

Porbre de Mi is sung at the closing ceremony, not the opening ceremony.
