The bank would be a key sponsor of a move for the Spanish driver to the Italian team.
Spain’s Banco Santander could be the key sponsor to take Fernando Alonso to Ferrari next season.
German magazine Sport Bild claims that Santander would pay 25 million € each season for the deal on the condition that Alonso is one of the team’s two drivers in 2009. The report says the bank would also pay 30 million € towards the contract to take Alonso to the Italian team.
Santander has been sponsoring McLaren since 2007, the year when the Spanish driver joined the team.
