Muslim Menu runs into high speed trouble in Spain

RENFE Spanish railways have tried to introduce a special menu for Muslims on their AVE high speed trains.
An attempt by the Spanish state owned railway RENFE to produce special menus for Muslims has failed with the Halal Institute of the Islamic Junta in Spain saying that the idea was ‘no more than a trick’. They say that all the train company has done is take away alcohol and pork, but has not controlled other questions such as how animals are sacrificed, the fats used in cooking and other requirements under Islam.
A statement from RENFE says the Muslim Menu meets the requirements established in the Koran.
RENFE has recently launched high cuisine on its popular AVE high speed routes and has already prepared special menus for Vegetarians, Diabetics, Gluten-free, Low Salt and Children and followed up on the introduction of Kosher food for Jews.
The company which provides the catering service, Wagon-Lits, says the Kosher menu is prepared outside Spain and comes with a Rabbi’s seal declaring it ideal for Jews, while the Muslim Menu is prepared with the others inside Spain.

They're afraid they might get poisoned. Why don't they just do what the
spanish always used to do: take a bocadillo and some fruit, and your own
drink? Save on money. Anyway, the AVE is so expensive, putting proper meals
on it just makes it MORE expensive. Wait 'till you get home to eat, like on
Easyjet. Oh, and by the way, the british expats complain as much as any
other ethnic minority (because you are, get used to it!) in Spain

I cant understand why Renfe or the Government will bend so low to try to
please or pacify these extremist in a liberal country.Its a free world , so
its either they like the food offered or reject it without complaining. In
Saudi and Pakistan, i wouldnt be asking for alchohol or pork, neither would
i complain, why should europe be different.
Its high time Europe woke up from their slumber and be bold and fight extremism, otherwise the events of 911 and Madrid bombing will be a childs play.

The number of Muslims is on the increase due to migration, high birth rate and convertion. The European societies and Establishment must learn to accommodate Muslim communities for better community relations.
They need Masajid for worship and state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models. Their children need to learn and wellversed in the language of the country of dwelling to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. They need to learn and be well versed in Arabic to recite and understand the Holy Quran. They need to be well versed in their mother tongues to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry.
A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He/she does not want to become monolingual Brit, French and German.
