Inveterate charity fundraiser and media star, Maurice Boland, has brought together an awesome team to create a gem of a talent contest to raise much needed funds for the running costs of Costa cancer care hospice CUDECA in Benalmádena.
If you fancy your chances as the next Leona Lewis or Gareth Gates, It’s time to polish up your act, as auditions begin next month. The X-Factor inspired talent competition is open to all
solo singers over the age of 16. There will be two opportunities to shine, with the first heat taking place at the Moonlight Bar at Sunset Beach Club Hotel, Benalmádena on Saturday 20th September, giving eastside Costa residents a chance to find out if opportunity knocks... A week later, west end Costa dwellers can try their luck at the second heat, which will be held
on Saturday 27th at Atalaya Park Hotel.
A Small Price for Fame
Entrants will be charged a 10€ registration fee, and along with oodles of talent and charisma, they must be armed with a CD or MP3 file featuring the backing track to the song that may
win them the coveted title of Wow Factor winner 2008.
To ensure coach loads of crowds to cheer on dozens of budding stars entering the contest, a nominal sum of 5€ will be charged to each member of the audience.
Emulating the format of some of the most phenomenally successful TV shows of all time, The Wow Factor will have its fair share of the music industry’s Mr Meanies among the judges panel and to add to the natural highs and lows, the contestants will be under pressure to perform to the crowds.
Compete for CUDECA
Founded by the incredible Joan Hunt, OBE, entirely from donations and fund-raising activity, the ground-breaking hospice has been tending to the needs of terminally-ill cancer patients,
and their families who live in the Province of Malaga since 1992. Offering care completely free of charge to those who need it, CUDECA is a non-profit making, invaluable local charity.
As the competition heats up, the nail-biting Semi Finals will be staged on 18th October at the Moonlight Bar in Benalmádena Costa. On this occasion, members of the public will pay 15€
per head to watch the line up of hopefuls as they sing their way into the affections of the public and the panel of judges, while helping to fill the coffers of one of the Coast’s most
deserving and beloved charity organizations.
The Final Countdown
The magnificent stage of the Torrequebrada Hotel will be the dramatic and nerve-wracking setting for the finals of this top-notch talent show, which hopes to rocket one of its 10 final
proteges into a privileged start in the music industry.
Just 15€ will secure the contestants’ fans a place in the audience to cheer them on, while privileged stage-side seating will be reserved for those digging deeper into their pockets for
CUDECA and purchasing VIP tickets for the show which include a 3-course meal, wine, and privileged seats at the show for 90€ (excl. IVA) per person. Or choose the VIP Gala package
for two, which includes a 3-course meal, wine, privileged seats as well as a double room at the hotel for the night, including breakfast for 284€ (excl. IVA) for two people.
The winner will walk away not only elated to be chosen as the cream of the Costa del Sol’s solo singing talent, but with a few prizes to help them climb the ladder of success including a
styling session with top fashionista Nicola Bowen, a recording session and video clip.
So do you have the talent to enter the Wow factor? If not, can you or your company support the event in any way?
