Given that torturing Bulls is a national pastime why should we be surprised
when people turn their attention to other animals.
Want to bet they get a slap on the wrist rather than some jail time?

Cat killers to face animal cruelty charges

A group of friends are charged with torturing and killing seven cats last year, and posting the abuse on the internet.
A group of youngsters who allegedly tortured and then killed a group of cats in Talavera de la Reina earlier in the year, and then who posted a video of their activities on the Internet, will now face charges of animal cruelty.
The El Refugio animal charity has been key in bringing the case against the youngsters, one of whom was forced to resign from the local youth Partido Popular following the revelations. El Refugio has supplied the court with photographs and other documentary evidence, and say that under the Penal Code the men face a possible three months to a year in prison.
The abuse allegedly took place in October last year in a finca at San Román de los Montes in Toledo when the group of friends met to hunt for rabbits. Seven cats were shot dead over two days according to the allegations.

All I can say, is that the parents of these youngsters will be so ashamed.
And I hope the cats cries will haunt them for the rest of their days,
because they will realise one day what they have done. Good to take them
out of society, these people are the abusers of the future.

This week alone i have read 5 articles of animal abuse coming form Spain.
Is this the new tradition? I'm telling you now that once the entire bull
population is gone they will start using us humans!
RE: Michael
I totally agree! Animal cruelty isn't even taken seriously in court. You could kill thousands of animals and get shit all!

Well, I hope they get the jail sentence, I've lived in Tenerife and worked
for animal refuge Punta Brava in Puerto de la cruz. Last year I went back
to Holland, and guess what, People in Holland don't get jail sentence at
all when killing or abusing an animal, just a fine and some meager
community servive work. Progressive country ???, not since the EEC rules
this country, last year 2 dogs were thrown over the balcony, and another
three found dead, none of these criminals got sentenced.
It has got all to do with voting in the EEC, the new treaty sucks, yesterday I was send an email that for lab animals nothing will be changed. When will we wake up and vote responsibly. I am a very active animal activist, not extremist n.b.!!! (although I can understand the extremistst all too well), and am 55 years old, and have been active for 40 years now, I am more than upset that Governments do zilch to prevent animal abuse.

Two weeks ago three of our domesticated cats were shot dead. They were
minding htier own business on our roof terrace. This is now an illegal act
in Spain but this is a country of barbarians, savages and cavemen. I urge
anyone thinking of moving to Spain a) DON´T DO IT but if you fall for the
lies about living in Spain then b) keep your pet INDOORS at all times.
Otherwise it will be shot, cooked or run over (deliberately).
