Manuel Ruiz de Lopera sells his shares in Betis

He has sold his 52 percent share in the club to the Sevilla businessman Luis Castel.
Manuel Ruiz de Lopera, still the main shareholder in the Betis football club in Sevilla, has reached an agreement with the local businessman, Luis Castel, for the sale of 52% of the shares in the club. Sources say that talks on the sale have been taking place over recent days and that they are ‘almost complete’ and the sum of 50 million € has been mentioned in the press.
It means the departure of Manuel Ruiz de Lopera from the club he joined during a time of crisis in 1992, and he leaves facing charges of financial irregularities outstanding him in the Sevilla courts.
