The Spanish Meteorological Office say temperatures will reach 41 degrees centigrade in some places this week.
The heatwave conditions continue in Spain as temperatures continue to reach 40 degrees in some areas because of a wave of hot air from Africa. The Spanish Meteorological Office, AEMET, say temperatures will not fall in the south of the country until Friday, and warn of what they call ‘a significant increase’ in temperatures in many areas from today, Tuesday.
AEMET spokesman, Ángel Rivera, said temperatures of 41 degrees would be reach in some places in Extremadura and the Guadalquivir Valley, but he noted these were not record highs.
It was the hottest day of the year so far in Málaga yesterday with the Terral wind sending temperatures up to 38 degrees. Hottest places on the costa del sol yesterday were Marbella, Estepona, Torrox and Vélez-Málaga. The Spanish met office says the high temperatures will continue on the Costa del Sol until at least Thursday.
