The find made overnight comes after nine alleged members of the Basque terrorists' Vizcaya cell were arrested earlier this week.

The Spanish Guardia Civil have found an ETA hide in Ezcaray in La Rioja, close to the Valdezcaray Ski Station.

The location of the hide is linked to the arrest of the nine members of the Basque terrorists’ Vizcaya cell earlier this week, with National Court judge Baltasar Garzón ordering the search be carried out overnight.
The hide is close to the flat which belongs to the girlfriend of one of those arrested.

The Interior Minister, Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, has linked most of the ETA attacks seen since the end of the cease fire to the newly arrested group, although there is doubt that they placed the small devices last weekend in Laredo and Noja. However it is believed that the Vizcaya cell was preparing for a large scale attack to be carried out in the Basque region later this summer. Some reports say the plan was to attack the Bilbao summer fair.
