Fernando Ferrín Calamita was found guilty of maliciously delaying a lesbian woman's request for adoption.

The Murcia High Court, T.S.J., has rejected the appeal placed by Judge, Fernando Ferrín Calamita, against his being found guilty of maliciously delaying the adoption of a baby girl by a lesbian woman.

The judge claimed his religious beliefs for his behaviour, but the higher court considered that the procedures followed by the adoptive mother were correct and should continue. She was officially adopting the younger daughter of her lesbian partner.

The court however also ruled that the judge should not face charges of perversion of the course of justice for limiting civil rights.
