Spanish municipalities increase in population thanks to foreigners

Half of Spanish towns and villages are seeing population growth because of foreign arrivals, especially along the coast.
Half of Spanish Municipalities are growing in size thanks to the foreign population, and 19 of the 32 to grow the most are found along the Spanish Mediterranean coastline.
Among the coastal municipalities to have grown the most because of the arrival of foreigners are Benalmádena, Roquetas de Mar, El Ejido, Torrevieja, Mijas, Orihuela, Estepona, Torremolinos, Gandía and Fuengirola. In El Ejido six times as many foreigners have taken residence in the municipality than Spaniards.
