Call for tighter control on animal cruelty in Spain

The Spanish Association for Animal Liberation want the use of cables and chains banned.

The Spanish Association for Animal Liberation, ALBA, has calle don the Government to control the conditions under which animals can by tied up. They say that cables or chains should not be allowed to be used in any circumstances and want to see increased penalties imposed on those found guilty of animal cruelty.

It comes after the association was presented with abandoned German Shepherd from Cuenca which had been found with a chain which had become encrusted into the animal’s neck.

The dog, ‘Campanilla’, has now made a full recovery and despite her ordeal remains sweet and friendly, and is now being offered for adoption.
