A Ecuadorian man has killed his wife with a shotgun.

A 38 year old Ecuadorian man has killed his 42 year old wife of the same nationality with a shotgun and then killed himself. The couple had been living together for some ten years and the shooting happened in Ontinyent in Valencia where they ran a local bar. They had three children, but only one of them, aged eight, lived with them.

Police were called to the scene by neighbours on Monday afternoon after the shots were heard.

So far this year in Spain 41 women have been killed by their partners or ex’s, and of these 18 were foreign women.
