Two shooting incidents in Marbella in less than 48 hours
By h.b. - Aug 23, 2008 - 1:58 PM

The shootings took place in a bar in Nueva Andalucía and at Nikki Beach.

Three men were injured on Thursday night in a shooting incident in Marbella. It seems the target of the attack in a bar in Nueva Andalucía was a 38 year old Irishman, and two other clients, aged 45 and 73 got caught in the crossfire.

A spokesman for the 112 Emergency Service told the El Mundo newspaper that it happened in Avenida del Prado in Nueva Andalucía in Marbella at 2240 last night. Reports say an armed man wearing a balaclava entered into a bar and opened fire before fleeing the scene in a white BMW car which was later found abandoned.

The identity of the three injured has not been released. They were all treated in the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella where reports indicate that only the 38 year old Irishman remains under observation.

An investigation has been opened by the National Police, who say that all lines of investigation remain open but it appears to be some sort of criminal settling of scores.

There was a second and unrelated shooting incident in Nikki Beach in Marbella in the early hours of Saturday morning. Two people were injured in the incident which happened at 0205, with one of them, a 42 year old man, being shot twice in the legs. There are no details as to the extent of the other victim’s injuries.

It is such a shame about the shootings and bombs up and down the coast It is getting like the wild west.
I have been coming to Puerto Banus for 20 years and I dont feel safe anymore.
My friend Peter Hutcheon went missing nearly 2 years ago just vanished into thin air he lived in the Port.
What is happening to the up market place it once was. ?

"Two shooting incidents in Marbella"

Marbella? One was in Elviria and one in Aloha pueblo/Neuva Andalucia. Plus both these shootings were drug gang related and not as this report suggests a random shooting

It is a shame - I guess the port and surrounding area has now been taken over by drug gangs - I also have been a regular visitor to
the port over the past 20 years and seen many changes in the clientele. It has now become a drug dealer 'heaven' with vasts amount of profit to be made - it's a jungle out there for sure, different gangs fighting for the same territory!
