The plane suffered depressurisation when on the route from Bristol to Girona last night.
A Ryanair flight travelling from Bristol to Girona last night had to carry out an emergency landing in Limoges, France after the cabin became depressurised, according to sources at the Spanish Airports Authority AENA.
At least 26 of those on board the plane needed hospital treatment for their injuries, mostly for not serious but very painful ear problems, as the plane fell some 8,000m in just a few minutes.
The plane had left Bristol about 10pm and was due in Girona at 11,40pm. 170 people including several children were travelling on board.
Ryanair sent another plane from London to pick up the passengers and continue with their journey, but some of the travellers said they preferred to complete their journey by road.
