The Ranstad company says that 10% of the local workforce has more than one job.

The province of Alicante is leading Spain in the number of people who are turning to two jobs as a way of reaching the end of the month and facing debt payments. Latest numbers suggest that there are now 80,000 local people in that situation, with the number doubling over the past year.

The number is published by the human resource company Ranstad which says that 10% of the workforce in Alicante province has more than one job, and generally those taking two jobs are aged over 35. The second job is often taken at weekends. The local unemployment rate is 13.66%, about 77,000 people.
